2022 Investment Banking/M&A Internship Program (Jan 2023)

Alchemist Capital Partners is a boutique end-to-end, full-service, M&A consulting firm located in Sydney. Our operations span across the globe and are supported by a deep network of corporate acquirers and investors, private equity, venture capital, family offices, and high-net worth individuals.

About the Program

Our internship program runs for 3 months starting in January 2023 and is designed to give highly motivated students an in-depth experience across multiple facets of an M&A firm.

During the program, you will rotate across our departments and be able to observe, learn and apply the skills needed to take a deal from start to finish. You will have the opportunity to work on deals at all stages of the process, shadow partners, experience client meetings and more. Our aim is for all our program interns to receive invaluable hands-on training, guidance and mentoring that will help develop your skills and knowledge in a professional environment.

This is an unpaid position with the opportunity to progress to a paid role with the firm.

The activities you will experience will include:

• Supporting client transactions from pitch to close under the guidance of our senior leaders
• Supporting with bringing on new clients to the firm and their associated onboarding process
• Research, analysis and administration of investment opportunities and matching those needs with client requirements
• Working with financial statements, creating presentations, copywriting and presenting material to clients and Alchemist Capital leadership

About You

Applicants from all degrees are welcome, as long as you have the desire to be a high-performance player and an interest in finance.

• Excellent communicator – capable in converting technical jargon to everyday language, such as explaining complex financial information to groups that may not have the same financial knowledge

• High performance mindset – being flexible, adaptable, and resilient in a high-pressure environment where attention to detail is paramount. In addition, the need to be self-motivated with a strong desire to learn is critical

• Commitment to at least 3 days a week.
