4.30 AM
It’s Monday, which means it’s travel day! Since my current project is based in regional Victoria, I fly out from Sydney early in the morning to be on-site with the team. With everything prepped the night before, I grab my bags, hop in an Uber, and head to the airport. The more you do it, the smoother the routine—security, coffee stop, and straight to the gate.
5.30 AM
Coffee in hand, I board my flight and try to catch a few extra minutes of sleep before the week officially kicks off.
7.30 AM
Once I land, I meet up with the rest of the team at the car rental area. Our project team varies in size depending on the phase we’re in, but right now, five of us commute weekly. The drive to the site is about 2 hours—lots of green fields, farms, and the occasional cow spotting along the way.
10.00 AM
Once on-site, we sign in and get ready for the day ahead.
10.15 AM
Mondays start with a quick planning session, mapping out priorities, deliverables, and key meetings for the week. Of course, this also means grabbing my second coffee of the day.
10.30 AM
I’m currently supporting a workstream focused on reliability & intenance. This means spending a good amount of time on the shop floor, gathering data, and working with operators to improve existing processes. Today, I’m checking in on machine settings and making sure everything is running to standard, as well as gathering data on micro-stops on the line.
11.30 AM
Quick refuel at the on-site canteen—a blueberry muffin and a banana.
11.40 AM
Using insights from the floor, I analyze trends and prepare outputs for our weekly stakeholder meeting. This session is key for tracking progress and driving improvements.
1.00 PM
We meet with key stakeholders to review findings, discuss challenges, and align on next steps. This is where data meets decision-making.
1.45 PM
Back to the canteen—Vietnamese chicken on the menu today.
2.15 PM
Suited up again to check in with the PM team, ensuring everything is progressing as expected.
3.30 PM
Before heading out, I align with colleagues, update progress notes, and respond to emails.
4.00 PM
Since Mondays start early, they also wrap up slightly earlier. Time to head back and recharge for the rest of the week!
