7.00 AM
Wake up and get ready for a day at the client office.
8.30 AM
Swing by the Argon office to grab a coffee with a colleague and check emails before heading to the client site. My current client’s office is only a 10-minute walk away — one of the small perks of this project!
9.45 AM
Arrive at the client office ahead of a 10am workshop and catch up with the client team. In this project Argon is supporting the client to implement a new system. I’m working across two workstreams — as part of the PMO (Project Management Office) creating project plans and reviewing deadlines as well as helping in the process mapping team to map out the client’s supply chain planning processes. Splitting my time between both streams has been a great way to learn both soft and more technical skills.
10.00 AM
Workshop time. Today’s session is focused on demand planning, breaking down how the client models expected demand, what systems and data inputs they use, and how outputs are shared and measured. We've been working closely with the client team to document their current processes and design a future-state process map — essentially a flow diagram showing how activities should work in the future. This session is all about validating future-state with the client to make sure it's both accurate and achievable with the data and new system being implemented. Obviously I can’t show you the real workshop, but here’s a fun re-creation in our office.
2.00 PM
Lunch was supplied during the workshop (yay!), but we grabbed some snacks on the way back to the Argon office for a little afternoon boost.
2.30 PM
Post-workshop write-up. Our team combined notes from the session and updated the process map based on the client’s feedback.
3.00 PM
Internal meeting. This Friday, Argon is running a Hackathon on how we can better leverage AI in our work, with the best solutions potentially being created by our technical team. It's a full day focused on innovation and professional development, so no client work allowed. Today’s meeting was to brainstorm how we could use AI to improve data analysis without compromising data security.
3.30 PM
Received feedback from the Program Manager to adjust a Gantt chart I created, mapping out key activities for the next stage of the project. After a quick chat to clarify the changes, I updated the plan in PowerPoint — ready to present at an upcoming Townhall session. I love that even as a grad, I get the chance to take ownership of deliverables and present directly to clients.
4.00 PM
Wrap up for the day — time to check Teams messages and any final emails, fill out some reporting and plan out tomorrow’s tasks.
5.00 PM
Left work right at 5pm for a dinner with the client team as they had a few people come in from interstate for the workshop. The project has about 30 people from the client team working on it so there’s a strong focus on collaboration and connecting with each other.
9.45 PM
Early night after a big day — plenty more workshops to come this week, so I need to be well-rested!
