BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however, it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.
What you will be doing
As a Graduate, you will help us estimate, price, and bid, on our most complex contracts within our Warships Team. You’ll be responsible for innovating new solutions to customer requirements whilst meeting contractual obligations. You will have the ability to prioritize, have strong organisational skills, and good oral communication skills. You will learn how to be superb with deadlines, decisive, advanced problem-solving capabilities, and professional thorough detail-oriented.
This role provides the opportunity to support the generation of bids and proposals to Customers that are priced, developed, and approved within the Business. To advise the Business on the Commercial risks associated with proposals and contracts to enable minimising risk and maximising business opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Engaged in a wide variety of Cost Estimating activities that support the development of business opportunities.
- Reviewing and challenging cost estimates and their basis of estimate.
- Helping in preparing Cost and Price models.
- Maintaining an auditable trail from the basis of estimate to final cost within the ProPricer toolset.
- Development and maintaining good working relationships with customers, both internal and external.
Skills
- As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either STEM, Business, or Finance.
