BAE Systems does offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however, it is expected on our Graduate programme you will be required to attend your site 3 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.
What you will be doing
As a Graduate, You will be operating in a programme environment, this role is positioned within the Category D, Shipbuilding organisation, responsible for the delivery of all onsite subcontracted services to the Type 26 Global Combat Ships programme. The role holder will directly support the Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Quantity Surveyor and Contract Manager(s) for the successful implementation, management, coordination and delivery of all CAT-D Site works in accordance with the obligations and philosophy of the specific NEC4 forms and BAE Systems specific forms of contract.
Duties and responsibilities
- Meets the governance requirements of the business and our customers.
- Support pre-contract duties such as compiling Invitation To Tender (ITT) packs, Tender Analysis and commercial negotiations.
- Ensure commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts are managed from procurement to final account agreement(s)
- Support in assessing the Subcontractor's Application For Payment (AfP) and issue interim Payment Certificates (with supporting Payless notices, where applicable).
- Assist Contract Managers in planning, forecasting and subsequently reporting project commercial performance.
- Monitor progress on site, carry out measurements, measurement reviews and audits of delivered materials, plant and equipment.
Skills
- As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
