The ConDC Hub Packaging Planning Intern will gain insight to the packaging planning process for the BMW Aftersales logistics business while assisting to develop and evaluate packaging concepts that are sustainable, cost-reducing, and that ultimately protect BMW part quality.  The ConDC Hub Packaging Planning Intern assists the ConDC Packaging Planning Team in enforcing BMW Aftersales packaging and labeling requirements by reviewing supplier Packaging Data Sheets and creating CPP Agreements.  Packaging Data Sheet review will occasionally entail onsite visits to Aftersales suppliers and packaging vendors.

The Intern should expect to support and improve the following:

  • Assist reviewing BMW Aftersales Packaging Data Sheets to ensure they meet defined Aftersales B2B requirements.
  • Visit BMW Aftersales suppliers to review packaging concepts.
  • Support ConDC Hub New Parts and PrePack teams by reviewing and resolving supplier packaging deviations.
  • Develop new packaging concepts by contributing ideas in design sessions and conducting part fit and quality checks/tests.
  • Evaluate documentation of existing and new packaging processes for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Evaluation of:
  • Priority-4 part legacy packaging agreement review for optimization resulting in cost and volume savings.
  • ConDC Hub in-house packaging review and optimization for Packaging Tender.
  • Container Management System (CMS) cage tracking optimization.
  • CoCo/sustainability analysis of existing inhouse and supplier packaging.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS (3rd or 4th year) in Packaging Science.
  • Proficient in Office applications.
  • Basic understanding of packaging design and sustainability factors.
  • CAD, 3D modeling and Adobe Design Suite experience a plus.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • The work term dates are January 13th – May 16 2025
