Your role

This position will be based within the Creative Consulting team but will be exposed to multiple departments and project types. The intern will also work amongst the Interaction Design, Automotive Design, and Industrial Design teams, embedding within the various teams for weeks. The intern will also support the Creative Consulting team on a variety of projects, from BMW to Non-BMW projects, conducting research, supporting workshops, and supporting the overall Design Works-LA Studio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with projects ranging from Advanced Design and ongoing DesignWorks programs to Non-DesignWorks US-market-based projects to Non-BMW Aviation and Creative Vision programs.
  • Participate in local market immersions and workshops.
  • Research and prototype new tools and processes, particularly those enabled by AI.

Training, development & rotation

This is an internship position for Spring/Summer Rotation, expected to start June 3, 2024, and continue through August 16 2024 in Santa Monica, CA. BMW offers comprehensive intern training programs designed to immerse participants in various aspects of automotive engineering, design, marketing, and management. Through hands-on projects, mentorship, and networking opportunities, interns gain valuable experience and insights into the automotive industry, preparing them for successful careers at BMW and beyond.

Salary & benefits

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $25.

About you

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university. 
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at the time of application. 
  • Must attach a copy of the college's unofficial transcript.
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week).
  • Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only).
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of Figma.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
