Assist in managing Digitalization initiatives at BMW, fostering innovation and practical learning.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with daily operations of Digitalization initiatives in the Assembly Shop.
  • Contributing to Industry 4.0 solutions like App development and AI-supported Vision inspection.
  • Supporting idea generation, proof of concept, and process development for continuous improvement projects.
  • Aiding in data visualizations and dashboard creation for Assembly management.
  • Creating and reviewing technical and user documentation.
  • Setting up low code app development environments and creating basic app frameworks.
  • Leading or assisting in process improvement projects.
  • Providing real-time support for production issues related to new technology.
  • Troubleshooting IT incidents and supporting new tool installations.
  • Training production associates in tool use and system function.
  • Leading or assisting in line trials for new use cases.
  • Communicating accomplishments at the end of each semester.
  • Engaging in projects like energy reduction and IoT device installation for predictive maintenance.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Project management skills, including time-management and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations.  
  • Detail-oriented and organized nature.
  • Knowledge or interest in IoT, Industry 4.0, and Data Analytics.
  • Enrollment as a student during all three rotations with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
  • Completion of at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
  • A copy of an unofficial transcript.
  • Passing a substance abuse test before the work term.
