Internship in Material Control at BMW, focusing on supply chain solutions and production assurance.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Connecting the network with integrated supply chain solutions.
  • Ensuring parts supply at the right time, place, quantity, and quality.
  • Focusing on Material Control, Transportation Control, and Delivery Assurance.
  • Steering the internal Gemba process and supporting supplier Gemba development.
  • Supporting VPS COC to create the VPS target picture.
  • Supporting implementation and development of work organization structure.
  • Developing department KPIs.
  • Assisting with obsolete cost tracking, E/E flashing status, and emergency order tracking.
  • Managing Smart Container Management, KPI Dashboards, Data Analytics, and Visualization.
  • Engaging in sustainability projects, continuous improvement, digitalization, and robotic process automation.

About You:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.
  • Have completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
  • Be able to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
  • Have a GPA from the current university if a transfer student.
  • Attach a copy of an unofficial transcript.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • Be pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office and have basic SAP knowledge.
  • Have strong interpersonal and technical skills (experience with Power BI, SQL, Data Lake is a bonus).
  • Be independent, detail-oriented, organized, and possess effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Show a willingness to learn.
