Your role
The material control series intern will be involved in:
Addressing the areas of uncertainty for material control – forecast errors, yield losses, issues in the timing of demand, and the timing of supply (random lead times). Finding alternatives to the current solution which is to carry safety stock.
Development of concepts / IT solutions in support of essential daily tasks.
Creating and maintaining visualization tools, material planning dashboard, etc.
Optimize the processes for the availability of materials, components, and products for planned production and for customer delivery.
Define the lowest possible level of inventory.
Understanding the uncertainty of the MRP in the body shop area, finding improvements and increasing planning efficiencies.
Support with process mapping of the business and support documentation of standard processes.
Using resources to support overall planning activities.
Ability to lead team meetings and give presentations.
Smart Container Management.
KPI Dashboards.
Data Analytics and Visualization.
Sustainability (Reduction of CO2 emissions, e.g. E-Trucks).
Continuous Improvement Projects.
Digitalization Projects.
Value Stream Mapping.
Part Defect Reduction.
Digitalization of Shipments.

About you
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have completed (or is in the process of receiving) a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
A GPA of 3.4 or above (preferred).
Candidate must have strong interpersonal and technical skills (experience using Power BI, SQL, Data Lake, etc. is a bonus).
Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions.
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week).
Transfer students must have a GPA from their current university.
Must attach a copy of the unofficial transcript
Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
The work term dates are (August 12th-December 13th, 2024).
