Your role

Job Description:

  • They connect the network with integrated supply chain solutions to safeguard production.
  • Ensuring parts supply at the right time, right place, quantity, and quality for continuous production.
  • The focus of their department is Material Control, Transportation Control, and Delivery Assurance.
  • They are the Gatekeepers of the supply chain for the ultimate driving machine.

The qualified Intern is expected to contribute & Improve in the following:

  • Addressing the areas of uncertainty for material control – forecast errors, yield losses, issues in the timing of demand, and the timing of supply (random lead times). Finding alternatives to the current solution which is to carry safety stock.
  • Development of concepts / IT solutions in support of essential daily tasks.
  • Creating and maintaining visualization tools, material planning dashboard, etc.
  • Optimize the processes for the availability of materials, components, and products for planned production and for customer delivery.
  • Define the lowest possible level of inventory.
  • Understanding the uncertainty of the MRP in the body shop area, finding improvements, and increasing planning efficiencies.
  • Support with process mapping of the business and support documentation of standard processes.
  • Using resources to support overall planning activities.
  • Ability to lead team meetings and give presentations.
  • Smart Container Management.
  • KPI Dashboards.
  • Data Analytics and Visualization.
  • Sustainability (Reduction of CO2 emissions, e.g. E-Trucks).
  • Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Digitalization Projects.
  • Value Stream Mapping.
  • Part Defect Reduction.
  • Digitalization of Shipments.
  • Robotic Process Automation.

About you

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have completed (or is in the process of receiving) a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A GPA of 3.4 or above (preferred). 
  • Candidate must have strong interpersonal and technical skills (experience using Power BI, SQL, Data Lake, etc. is a bonus).
  • Must attach a copy of the unofficial transcript.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week).
  • The work term dates are January 13th - May 16th, 2025.
