It varies a lot depending on your team, but mine have generally been very nice and helpful. The CEP is great. We received detailed feedback for an assessment task we did as clerks.

Managers are always accessible and willing to help. They respond to queries promptly and efficiently.
Summer Clerk, Sydney - 07 Feb 2025
The managers are very accessible and easy to talk to. They are great mentors and always give constructive feedback and want to pass on knowledge.
Intern, Sydney - 04 Feb 2025
My managers were constantly checking in on me and ensuring I was recognised for quality work but also picked up for errors.
Intern, Sydney - 03 Feb 2025
The managers I worked under are really good mentors. They provide helpful feedback and are always looking for ways to get the clerks involved in some work, even if it is just to observe/ sit in on a meeting.
Intern, Sydney - 03 Feb 2025
Partners are consistently receptive of juniors' eagerness to initiate catch-ups and answer questions. On occasion partners will initiate 1 on 1 catch-ups themselves to maintain visibility on juniors' progression.

The partners and SA have been crucial in my development and have looked after my well-being. We stay in regular contact and I am provided with well structured feedback

My direct managers are incredible. They teach as they wanted to be taught and encourage a curiosity that helps those who want to learn become fantastic lawyers.
3 PQE Lawyer, Sydney - 28 Aug 2024
The senior lawyers of the firm are always open to providing feedback and there is always recognition for great performance.
Graduate, Sydney - 28 Aug 2024
This depends on the team, however, as mentioned in some of my previous answers, given how busy partners are, it is often difficult to get feedback and speak to them. It would be good if partners had a greater involvement in the professional development of graduates

Seniors take mentoring seriously and make themselves available as necessary to perform that role.
Lawyer, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2024
My managers make great mentors, great with feedback, recognition. Can't flaw. But I have had managers in the past at this organisation who were not nearly as good with these points.
Graduate, Sydney - 12 Jul 2024
People are very busy but in general I am satisfied with senior managements approach ability, willingness to hear from juniors and provide feedback.
Graduate, Sydney - 10 Nov 2023
Some managers lack recognition and praise, which i think is important. Sometimes they are not accessible and it is difficult to receive feedback.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Nov 2023
Not amazing. Not enough formal performance interviews in place. Not enough checking in on emotional and mental health
Graduate, Sydney - 27 Oct 2023
All mentors and coaches I have the experience to work with have been great and very helpful.
Graduate, Brisbane - 20 Oct 2023
Fairly accessible. The managers are not typically in the mentor role, though they do sometimes put in time to provide good feedback and recognition. More often this will come from the next level down.
Graduate, Perth - 18 Oct 2023
All the senior leadership/mentorship that I have received has been excellent: hands on and invested.
Graduate, Melbourne - 17 Oct 2023
It depends on the team you are in

I have a supervising partner and a coach and they have been very accessible. I have had the opportunity to work with them one-on-one and also as part of the broader team with different matters and they have communicated well, and I have also organised initial, mid-rotation and end of rotation catch-ups with them to receive feedback and recognition.
