I feel confident now in knowing that I need to do and have support from my team in my work. I feel like I have a good amount of work and can speak up if I get overwhelmed.
Midlevel, Canberra - 30 Nov 2022
I believe I am given skill appropriate work by my direct manager(s) and regularly provided with opportunities to further my development. Unfortunately this has not been consistent across all teams I have rotated through, but there has been some effort from all teams to see that I have a manageable workload and am introduced to new concepts and areas regularly.
Graduate, Canberra - 21 Nov 2022
It varies as I am a grad undertaking various rotations.

Graduates are kept busy with rotation work, social club duties and completion of a graduate certificate in public administration. The diversity of work on offer as part of rotations is high and it is possible to rotate through a number of interesting areas. Time management skills are essential.

My role requires a lot of reading and research, as well as synthesising information. Transport security requires both analytical skills and team discussions.

As a graduate I have been given many opportunities to get exposure to many different facets of multiple roles within the organisation. The work is often varied and appropriate for my level of education and experience.

My first two years in the role were a fascinating learning curve engaging with a whole new global industry and regulatory framework. Although I remain interested in the overall subject matter I work on, it is now tending towards the formulaic and repetitive: regular ministerial briefing, standard regulatory processes, cyclical policy debates and correspondence.

Very varied. I've had some large project work and also times where work changed on a day-to-day basis. I've done ministerial submissions, correspondence, briefings and a whole lot in between.
Graduate, Canberra - 13 Jul 2015
I've chosen to work on some major projects and reform, so my tasks tend to vary. I've worked on ministerial submissions, correspondence, research tasks and I've also written a lot of content for the Annual Report.

My day-to-day responsibilities vary as a Graduate. Some days I am working purely on rotation tasks, other days I am working on a combination of Graduate and rotation work. It can be an interesting balance of competing priorities.
Graduate, Canberra - 13 Jul 2015
I undertake a wide variety of work and attend a number of meetings with external stakeholders.
Experienced, Canberra - 13 Jul 2015
The more I progress, the more chances I have to work on more challenging and interesting things.

I am a Project Officer with the Office of Transport Security. On a day-to-day basis, I can be responsible for directly managing up to ten projects at a time. In addition to this, I am regularly consulted in projects run by other staff, and assist my team on an ad hoc basis. My days are incredibly varied, and I can never be certain what to expect. However, it is this aspect of my job which keeps me engaged and interested each day. I also enjoy the chance to be responsible and accountable for my own projects.
