What do we do? 

We have opportunities for graduates to work across the following areas:  

  • Digital and Transformation is the process of applying yamagigu’s approach with digital technologies to enable meaningful change by creating new — or modify existing — business models, products, processes, culture, and experiences to meet changing market conditions and community needs.
  • Economic Development is the process of building prosperity and wealth within communities to create meaningful change and grow the First Nations economy.
  • Sustainability, Human Rights and System Change embeds yamagigu’s approach into the policy cycle to enable meaningful change through conversation, reflection, and shared decision-making. yamagigu’s approach to Sustainability is inherently based on a First Nations worldview, prioritising First Nations Peoples as rights holders and decision-makers in efforts to care for country, address climate change, regenerate nature, and restore ecosystem integrity.
  • Advisory and Transactions to help businesses and communities unlock their economic potential by advising on complex commercial opportunities. We leverage our deep understanding of the challenges facing the First Nations Economy to support First Nations businesses, communities, and initiatives in achieving their commercial, community, and cultural aspirations.

You'll be a curious and passionate student who:   

  • Has a clear passion and drive to design and deliver improved outcomes for First Nations people and communities
  • Depending on the area, you’ll need an interest in: Economics and public policy, Policy Advocacy, Environmental Stewardship, Financial Acumen, Cultural Competence
  • Possesses strong analytical and quantitative skills 
  • Is a strong communicator – both verbally and written  
  • Willing to travel interstate for client consultations 
  • Is willing to engage with unlearning and re learning at times
  • Is an Australian permanent residency or Australian/New Zealand Citizenship

Day to day responsibilities vary from project to project. Currently, I am responsible for helping other streams e.g. Integration, Networking, Testing etc, get on board the AWS platform and help with troubleshooting any issues they face on the platform. Along with that I am also responsible for maintain consistency and security of the platform, as well as keep the documentation up to date with the current state of the platform.

My role and day-to-day responsibilities differ depending on the project I am working on. My most common duties are taking notes during meetings, scheduling meetings with stakeholders, creating presentation decks for final deliverables, testing cybersecurity controls of organisations, assisting with proposals and other business development activities.
