The Department of Justice supports the community, Western Australian Government, judiciary, and Parliament through the provision of access to high-quality justice, legal and corrective services, information, and products.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) provides specialist 24/7 armed emergency response and security support services for all correctional facilities within the State. The SOG also provides surveillance and intelligence gathering, high-security escorts, specialist training and exercising.
In addition to SOG, the Business Service portfolio provide support for the Drug Detection Unit (DDU). The DDU provides accessible drug detention services across the State that assists in minimising the trafficking of illicit substances. It utilises canines and other technologies to detect and prevent drugs and other contraband coming into the Correctional facilities.
The Business and Administration Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of SOG and DDU by providing high quality and pro-active administrative services. The Business and Administration Officer will contribute to the management of financials, procurement, information technology, Human Resource (HR) and administrative functions.
