Your role

What you will do:

The oil and gas industry is constantly evolving. The Federal Royalty team applies a technical understanding of current regulatory practices to a wide range of federal royalty areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes to very complex issues.

As a Federal Royalty Intern in the oil and gas sector, your role will include:

  • Working in a highly collaborative culture, listening to and sharing information with colleagues.
  • Learning and researching current market trends.
  • Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex operations to identify potential opportunities and risks and provide meaningful business insights, tailoring advice to the client's specific needs.
  • Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve their clients' activities.

About you

Job requirements and preferences:

  • A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, International Business or a related field; or an advanced degree in Tax or Law.
  • Critical thinking skills and the adaptability to problem-solve difficult issues.
  • The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.
  • Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work more than standard hours when necessary.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride-share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Technical writing and research experience in a regulatory context.
  • Proficient in Power BI, Alteryx, or related software.
  • Good understanding of oil and gas field operations and revenue processes.

Compensation & benefits

The hourly pay range for this role can range from $32.69 - $40.87.
