IPART provides independent regulatory decisions and advice to protect and promote the ongoing interests of NSW's consumers, taxpayers, and citizens. They are the independent regulator for the water, public transport, local government, electricity and gas industries, and the Energy Savings Scheme in NSW. IPART also undertakes reviews and investigations into a wide range of economic and policy issues and performs a number of other roles at the NSW Government’s request.

The Analyst is responsible for delivering research and technical analysis of license or accreditation applications or pricing issues and applying policies/guidelines. The Analyst also implements best practice regulatory compliance work to ensure the effective administration of the Energy Savings Scheme, water licensing and compliance activities, and the electricity distributor safety and reliability regulatory activities or participates in price reviews for regulated utilities.

Pricing and Policy Analyst (IPART Officer D) roles may earn an average of A$101,522 to A$109,777 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
