Your role
KPMG’s Tax Incentives Practice has assisted thousands of organizations of all types and sizes, ranging from start-up businesses to multinational enterprises. The multi-disciplinary team of professionals works with clients who are seeking to obtain Federal and Provincial Government funding for their research and development, innovation, capital growth, workforce advancement, market expansion, and environmental sustainability projects. They help explore client's eligibility to secure different forms of government funding, grants, incentives, investment tax credits (ITC), and cash refunds.
As a Tax Incentive Scientific Research & Experimental Advisor (Co-op/Intern/Full-Time), you will have the opportunity to:
Work with clients´ finance and accounting information with respect to their SR&ED claims.
Work with engineers to ensure that clients receive government tax incentives for their research and development efforts.
Work in a team environment in completing the SR&ED claims of small through large corporations.
Prepare SR&ED tax forms using Taxprep software.
Respond to tax questions relating to the SR&ED program.
Assist in completing accounting and tax documentation for SR&ED claims.
Ensure that SR&ED claims documentation is filed and completed in accordance with the established quality controls.

Post-secondary education in a related discipline is preferred

Advanced Microsoft Office skills with a strong proficiency in MS Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter and solution-oriented mindset
Dedication and strong work ethic, strong team player.
Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation.

Interest in accounting and tax preferred
