Your role

As an intern in Actuarial Practice, you will be working in teams to assist your seniors in various audit and advisory work for our life insurance and general insurance clients such as:

  • Performing Certifying Actuary work such as reserve valuation and reviews, stress testing, capital adequacy analysis, and risk management assessments.
  • Participate in Merger & Acquisitions and due diligence projects.
  • Building actuarial models to support decision-making and analysis.
  • Advise clients on various insurance topics such as accounting and regulatory change, claims, pricing or reserving process optimization, and market studies.
  • Support in business development initiatives such as preparing proposals and presentations.

Training and development

As an intern, you will work closely with teams of experienced professionals, undergo on-the-job training, and have ample networking opportunities. KPMG in Singapore's Internship Programme builds on that culture to offer hands-on training and work experience to gain useful insights into the various services KPMG offers and the industries it supports. In addition, interns who attain a good performance rating may be offered full-time Graduate Associate positions upon graduation.

About you

The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes:

  • Be pursuing a degree in a numerical discipline such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple assignments at the same time.
  • Demonstrate an interest and desire to pursue an actuarial career such as through internships, courses, or actuarial examinations.
