Join KPMG's dynamic team as a Tax Intern, assisting in corporate tax services for Japanese-owned companies.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting clients with corporate tax services, including compliance, planning, and research.
  • Preparing corporate tax returns for Japanese-owned companies in the U.S.
  • Assisting with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740 and IAS 12) on financial statements.
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide tax services to Japanese-based companies.
  • Building capabilities in technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.

About You:

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing degrees in accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, IT, data and analytics, or engineering.
  • Preferred degrees in Accounting and Taxation.
  • Pursuing CPA licensure requirements in the principal place of business.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Bilingual in English and Japanese.
  • Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, and MS Office skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to learn and navigate technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel as needed.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

California Salary Range: $72,000 - $85,000. KPMG offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental plans, vision coverage, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plans, and personal well-being benefits. Personal Time Off and firmwide breaks are provided annually.
