KPMG is seeking an Intern to join their Economic and Valuation Services practice.
Responsibilities:
Assist with statistical, economic and financial analysis on economic, regulatory and policy issues of significance to a range of clients in the public and private sectors, both domestically and internationally.
Help develop and apply complex financial models to analyze and price complex transactions and financial instruments.
Support the development of mathematical and computational models to simulate the impact of policy changes or business decisions.
Manipulate large data sets to support statistical, economic and financial analyses.
Write technical and non-technical reports based on research.
Document narratives on the issues under analysis and translate these into informative professional reports.
Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.
About you
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelor and/or Masters in Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, Data and Analytics or Finance, or equivalent program.
Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Coursework or knowledge of management and analysis of large volumes of data, financial analysis and valuation, statistical analysis, building and working with economic or mathematical models and econometric analyses.
Knowledge of data analysis software including STATA, SAS, Python, SQL, R, JavaScript, Matlab, Fortran and C/C++.
Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access, Power BI), Alteryx, Tableau, artificial intelligence (AI) and similar data analysis and visualization tools.
Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation.
Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
