Your role
KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Associate for their Global Executive & Private Client Group practice in Tax.
Responsibilities:
Support clients in analyzing tax implications of working internationally and filing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions including preparing Federal and State(s) individual income tax returns, analyzing and utilizing foreign tax credits between countries and tax treaties and looking for opportunities to use global tax planning opportunities to minimize overall tax costs.
Assist corporations with setting up operations in new countries and help to ensure the applicable tax rules are satisfied and the corporations and individual executives are in compliance with the applicable tax and social tax requirements.
Help clients determine the compensation packages that should be provided to executives working on an international assignment; assist with setting up and supporting their global payroll process including determining amounts that should be provided to executives in multiple locations while ensuring compliance with the applicable countries' laws in the respective locations.
Provide global coordination/support to KPMG corporate clients with all aspects of running a global mobility program including implementing processes and technologies related to efficiently managing their global workforce.
Assist Senior Associates and Managers with engagement administration and scoping efforts
Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.
Training & development
During the internship, interns will learn to analyze international tax implications, prepare multi-jurisdictional tax returns, and support global tax planning strategies. You will also gain experience in setting up global operations, managing executive compensation packages, and utilizing key technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI for efficient global mobility program management.

About you
Qualifications:
Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months in Bachelor's and/or Master's with a concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, Finance, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university.
Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
Bilingual in English and Japanese with the ability to use both Japanese and English language skills in a business environment a plus.
Able to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx and Power BI
Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation.
Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future is preferred.
