Join KPMG's State & Local Tax practice as a Tax Associate, working with a dynamic team to deliver innovative tax solutions.
Your Role:
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing sales, use, and telecommunications tax data for KPMG compliance clients.
- Arranging monthly data into proper tax location codes, types, categories, authority levels, taxpayer entities, and amounts.
- Applying client-specific business rules to modify tax data for KPMG's mechanized tax processing systems.
- Processing data for returns using KPMG's mechanized tax systems.
- Identifying, documenting, and recommending client technological business requirements for tax compliance processes.
- Designing, testing, and troubleshooting indirect tax technology solutions using Microsoft Access, Excel, or SQL Server.
- Building capabilities in key technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI for client service delivery.
About You:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Pursuing or having obtained a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, accounting, management information systems, or a related field within the past 12 months.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Development knowledge using Visual Basic for Applications in Microsoft Access required; experience in .NET preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Alteryx, Access, SQL Server, XML, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, or process mapping software.
- Basic tax or accounting knowledge.
- Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
- Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
