Join KPMG's State & Local Tax practice as a Tax Associate, working with a dynamic team to deliver innovative tax solutions.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing sales, use, and telecommunications tax data for KPMG compliance clients.
  • Arranging monthly data into proper tax location codes, types, categories, authority levels, taxpayer entities, and amounts.
  • Applying client-specific business rules to modify tax data for KPMG's mechanized tax processing systems.
  • Processing data for returns using KPMG's mechanized tax systems.
  • Identifying, documenting, and recommending client technological business requirements for tax compliance processes.
  • Designing, testing, and troubleshooting indirect tax technology solutions using Microsoft Access, Excel, or SQL Server.
  • Building capabilities in key technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI for client service delivery.

About You:

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Pursuing or having obtained a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, accounting, management information systems, or a related field within the past 12 months.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Development knowledge using Visual Basic for Applications in Microsoft Access required; experience in .NET preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Alteryx, Access, SQL Server, XML, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, or process mapping software.
  • Basic tax or accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
