Your Role

KPMG is currently seeking a Technology Assurance Audit Intern to join our Audit Services team.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn to prepare clear and well-structured documentation regarding our understanding of client's processes and information technology (IT) systems
  • With appropriate guidance, execute and document testing of the client's IT controls using appropriate standards and terminology
  • Work as part of the audit engagement team to support the use of Data and Analytics (D&A) in the audit, including data extraction and analysis; utilize a range of technologies and data analysis tools to execute substantive IT Audit procedures, including artificial intelligence (AI), Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and Power BI; assist in the preparation of the related documentation
  • Identify and communicate findings and recommendations to engagement team members
  • With appropriate guidance, utilize technology, systems, tools, and innovations in support of engagement activities
  • Learn new and emerging technologies and explore opportunities to use intelligent automation

Training & Development

Interns will gain expertise in preparing clear and structured documentation on client processes and IT systems while executing IT control testing with guidance. Working within the audit engagement team, they'll utilize various technologies and data analysis tools, such as AI, Excel, and Python, to conduct substantive IT audit procedures, fostering skill development and exposure to emerging technologies for intelligent automation beyond the internship.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: bachelor's degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, or equivalent program and double major in Accounting
  • Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • General understanding of business systems and technology, as well as data analysis tools
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday is preferred but not required
  • Strong technical aptitude and critical thinking skills; demonstrated quality service mindset; ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; leadership experience; resourceful in delivering high-quality work; ability to demonstrate project management skills is a plus
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using your own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
  • Technology Assurance professionals are expected to work in person at a KPMG office or client site on an average of three days per week; some client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office)
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
