The Mastercard Launch program is aimed at early career talent, to help you develop skills and gain cross-functional work experience. Over a period of 18 months, Launch participants will be assigned to a business unit, learn and develop skills, and gain valuable on the job experience. Successful candidates will be assigned to a business unit and rotate for a duration of 2 x 9 months each for a total of 18 months.

Strategy Pricing & Interchange

The Strategy Pricing & Interchange serves as a critical function within Business Excellence team that defines economic frameworks which ensure the competitiveness of Mastercard’s products and services and the alignment with Australasia division’s objectives. The role will work with the functional teams to achieve the market objectives in these areas through the identified deliverables below.

Major accountabilities:

  • Conduct research & analysis to support business strategies
  • Develop financial models and conduct analysis that supports the strategic pricing and interchange initiatives
  • Identify and develop creative solutions, with a strong analytical and fact-based foundation, and lead teams toward its implementation.
  • Develop business analytics dashboards that provide actionable insights that support or identify initiatives to accelerate business objectives
  • Work collaboratively across various internal teams to support a variety of business initiatives, including but not limited to Account Management teams, Regional Pricing and Interchange team, Market Development, Products & Innovation, Legal, Public Policy etc.
  • Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with peers and management.

Education: 

  • Graduating seniors - Class of 2022/latest end January 2023
  • Students pursuing a Masters/bachelor’s degree (all majors welcome to apply) 

Key Competencies: 

  • Experience applying financial and business management principles, theories and concepts. Experience with financial modeling 
  • Strategic thinker with a strong orientation to detail, superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Self-managed and self-driven. Able to anticipate needs and execute according to them.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to lead through influence and thrive despite challenges.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint; understanding of macros a plus
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

Languages: 

  • English required 
  • Additional languages are a plus
