The Mastercard Launch program is aimed at early career talent, to help you develop skills and gain cross-functional work experience. Over a period of 18 months, Launch participants will be assigned to a business unit, learn and develop skills, and gain valuable on-the-job experience. 

Overview

The Distributed Virtualization team, Distributed Platform program is looking for a Systems Platform Engineer to assist in driving our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. This role will involve building, implementing, and maintaining support for Mastercard's systems/platforms for performance, efficiency, and capacity by analyzing and testing the facilities, and identifying/diagnosing performance issues (e.g., middleware, compute & storage). The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. 

Role

In this client-facing position, you will:

  • Assist in the analysis, design, development and delivery of our hypervisor solutions (VMWare)
  • Assist in performing feasibility studies, cost and time analysis and create detailed estimates for external customers
  • Assist in managing Mastercard’s HCI global fleet efficiently in terms of capacity management and technical refresh
  • Be part of a team that plans, designs and develops technical virtual infrastructure solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with MasterCard standards, processes and best practices and with a high level of innovation, cost-effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should:

  • Graduating seniors – Class of 2024 with a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Have an understanding of HCI Engineering Concepts and Methodologies with specific skillsets in VMWare.
  • Have an understanding or experience in automation techniques or processes, specifically with some of the products used (PowerCLI, Python, Terraform, GIT, Bitbucket, Artifactory).
  • Have an understanding or knowledge of x86 rack-mounted servers and or blade technologies.
  • Must be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and able to function under pressure in an independent environment and have the ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities and work as a member of matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team.
  • Be a strong, confident, and exacting writer and speaker, able to communicate your vision and roadmap effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Be skilled at explaining and presenting technical problems succinctly and clearly to senior management.
