Your role

Morgan Stanley is seeking interns to join the Fund Services Team for the Off-Cycle Internship Program. This is 6 months internship program designed as an opportunity to learn more about the important role that Fund Services plays within the Firm.

The Product Development group focuses on building technical solutions to resolve complex problems in Portfolio Accounting, Investor Allocations, Investor Services, Trade Processing, Risk Mitigation, Client Onboarding, Regulations, Investor Due Diligence, and other important processes in the organization. They consult closely with external and internal clients, build new applications, and continuously improve the existing proprietary web-based applications. Based on the business strategy and overall priorities, the Product Development team leads and drives the product plans including gathering user requirements for the development teams, facilitating design reviews with the business and managing the overall rollout plans including QA, user testing, staff training and final delivery. The team partners with the business and technology teams across multiple global locations to deliver the final product. The Product Development team also works on the automation agenda using multiple market-leading digital tools like Robotics Process Automation and Data Analytics. They work with business partners to provide end-to-end digital solutions to business problems. 

In the Morgan Stanley Fund Services division, they work with a global institutional client base to provide hedge funds, multi-asset class investors, family offices and private equity Firms with innovative product solutions.

What you’ll do in the role

  • Understand the hedge fund administration business.
  • Liaise with business users and development teams across locations to understand/ document business requirements & create business process maps.
  • Analyze existing processes and suggest automation opportunities.
  • Understand automation opportunities, design and develop a flexible and scalable solution using available digital toolkits.
  • Test the end-to-end solution and make it ready for production.
  • Understand the project management and governance framework, ensure projects are tracked and monitored proactively.
  • Work with Product Development leads and business users on solution rollouts across global clients.

About you

 What you’ll bring to the role

  • MBA or equivalent with B.Tech/B.E. or Accounting/Finance qualification.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with knowledge of financial concepts.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and the drive to look for ways to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ability to take ownership and effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Ability to work with a team, to discuss ideas and to collaborate.
  • Ability to handle pressure, effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Robotics Process Automation, Surface Automation Toolkits, Business Process Mapping and Data Analytics

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree
