Your role

The Tax Services helps businesses and individuals achieve their tax objectives in today’s global landscape with the experience and foresight to make the best strategic decisions. You will work alongside a team of experienced tax professionals and assist in analyzing and processing large amounts of information and data for clients on a wide range of engagements, such as:

• Developing dashboards for data visualization and analysis.
• Conceptualizing end-to-end solutions and maintenance of internal systems as well as systems to be developed and used by clients.
• Reviewing current systems and making recommendations by presenting ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals.
• Working closely with analysts, designers, and business users to develop web-based solutions using tools such as Microsoft R, Sharepoint, .NET, and others.
• Producing detailed specifications and writing program codes.
• Participating in active quality assurance of the solution before going live.

About you

To apply for this role, you have to meet the following qualifications:

• Strong understanding of security concepts and cybersecurity threats.
• Proficient in writing program codes such as C#, development on .NET framework, SQL databases, Frontend,  HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Knowledge of some Javascript frameworks will be beneficial such as Angular and VueJS.
• Keen to develop themselves in the profession.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, confident, and creative.
• Maintain a good and active co-curricular activities record.
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Service-oriented, take pride in your work, and committed to teamwork and excellence.

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.

Training and development

Work-Study Programmes (WSP) at SMU provide opportunities for students to undergo longer internship durations to better interlace classroom learning with structured on-the-job training. Students will alternate working at least four days and studying on campus for one day each week for a minimum of 20 weeks. Students will have the opportunity to rotate within one or more divisions at the bank - Group Finance, Group Legal and Compliance, and Group Audit.
