Your role
The General Assurance Practice works with organizations to navigate regulatory complexities by improving their corporate reporting and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements and contractual agreements. You will work alongside a team of experienced audit professionals and assist in analyzing and processing large amounts of information and data for clients on a wide range of engagements, such as:
- Performing data cleansing and transformation using Alteryx, ACL, and/or SQL.
- Launching data analysis on business processes such as journal entry, payroll, and procurement to derive actionable insights.
- Driving report integrity and computation reviews to drive audit efficiencies.
- Ensuring data integrity, quality control checks, and reconciliations when performing data analysis.
- Developing data visualization dashboards on Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI to identify trends, outliers, and patterns in business processes.
- Delivering results and presenting insights to internal leaders as well as external clients.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies and issues.
- Reviewing process efficiencies and making recommendations for process improvement.
- Managing multiple concurrent audit support jobs and ensuring that the results are delivered within the agreed timeline.
About you
To apply for this role, you have to meet the following qualifications:
- Deep interest in audit and the digitalization of the profession.
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL or ACL.
- Strong knowledge in using data automation tools such as Alteryx, and VBA but not mandatory.
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, Qlik Sense, or Power BI.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, confident, and creative.
- Maintain a good and active co-curricular activities record.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Service-oriented, take pride in your work, and committed to teamwork and excellence.
- Strong technical and analytical skill sets.
- Ability to work independently and perform under pressure.
- Confident in presentation skills, both oral and written.

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
Training and development
Work-Study Programmes (WSP) at SMU provide opportunities for students to undergo longer internship durations to better interlace classroom learning with structured on-the-job training. Students will alternate working at least four days and studying on campus for one day each week for a minimum of 20 weeks. This programme aims to train the next generation of accounting professionals for digital transformation.
The programme consists of three courses:
- Data Modelling and Visualization.
- Business Data Management.
- Accounting Data & Analytics Work-Study Elective.
