Your role

Internship expectations and daily responsibilities:

The main role of the manufacturing engineer intern is to work as a project manager. Through the introduction of new equipment, continuous improvement, equipment modification or new tools integration, you will collaborate with different technical groups to meet the objectives. The autonomy of the intern will be a key skill in coordinating the different projects. You will have the opportunity to work with suppliers and integrators through his participation in the mandates of the team. The stimulating work environment is divided between the shop, the office and remote work.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Analyse problems and develop solutions (20%).
  • Coordinate the project teams and execute projects on production lines (70%).
  • Prepare and present business cases (10%).
  • The responsibilities assigned to the candidates are adapted to the experience and the aspiring potential.

Training & development

During the internship, interns will develop project management skills by coordinating and executing projects on production lines, analyzing problems developing solutions, and preparing business cases. You will gain experience in collaborating with technical groups, suppliers, and integrators, fostering autonomy and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

The work environment for this role:

The work is on-site on the day shift 40 hours/week with optional remote work 1 day/week. Teams and Zoom are used as collaborative tools. In the manufacturing engineering team, there are 8 engineers from different specialities to support the student.

The Longueuil site is easily accessible by car or public transport. There is a woodland on site, a recreational club, interesting attractions in Old Longueuil nearby, etc.

  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable
  • Pursuing a degree in engineering
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills in French (spoken/written)

  • A good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken, is required for the operational needs of the Employer and the people with whom the candidate will interact.
