Operations Analyst I - JAM at RCBC
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at Polytechnic University of the Philippines
What's your job about?
I’m responsible for reviewing the bank’s operations and control processes. In one of my department rotations, I pinpointed and addressed reprocessing waste, it was an already existing long-term problem, but so far no one was able to quantify its negative impact to the bank, thus no corrective action has been taken.
What's your background?
I grew up here in Metro Manila with my parents. I was used to the busy and fast-paced city life, which was evident during my college years. Back then, I was actively involved in academic competitions, and also an executive officer in two student organizations. On top of that, I did paid voluntary internships in a couple of companies. I’m currently on my first job and I applied for it through LinkedIn. I have been with RCBC for more than a year already.
Could someone with a different background do your job?
Yes, as long as someone has high levels of grit and ingenuity.
What's the coolest thing about your job?
What I love most about my job is working on process improvements, because I am able to improve the quality of life for the people in the bank.
What are the limitations of your job?
My job might not be a fit for people who can’t socialize well. Communication is essential in my job, I must be able to adapt/cater to the needs and preferences of multiple people everyday.
