Our client is a well-respected and recognised accounting & financial service provider who have been operating in regional NSW for over 100 years. With a depth of experience and knowledge in complete financial services they recognise the importance of building trusting relationships with their rural and regional client base.

The Role

As a Junior Accountant you can expect your role to be varied and interesting and include areas such as tax compliance, bookkeeping, software support and business advisory as you develop your specialty. You will receive proactive training which is integrated with your work giving you the opportunity to contribute to the effectiveness of the business from the start. Working alongside Senior Accountants & the partner group, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collating information to produce reports and analysis
  • Supporting the provision of tax advice to clients
  • Preparing and lodging annual tax returns
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for bookkeeping clients
  • Coordinating, collating and reconciling documentation for audits

The Person

We are seeking engaging, vibrant and committed junior accountants who are currently studying or have just graduated or are early career and who are excited about being involved in a regional community. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An interest and commitment to living regionally and being part of the community
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instruction and strong attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic with a keenness to learn and grow
  • Ability to follow through on set tasks and effectively manage priorities
  • Proactive and team oriented
  • Competent Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills, experience with accounting software packages would be advantageous
  • Relevant accounting qualifications or working towards

As this is a junior role, no experience is necessary though some experience will be viewed favourably. This role offers the opportunity for further professional development including support in obtaining your Chartered Accountancy. As this is a long-term position, we are seeking citizens or permanent residents for this role.
