About RSM

RSM is a multinational network of accounting firms forming the world's sixth-largest accountancy professional services network by revenue. RSM's member firms are independent accounting and advisory businesses, each of which practices in its own right and is unified as part of the network.

Your role

What does the external audit team do?

  • The team carries out a detailed, risk-based review of a company’s financial records and control environment to form an opinion on whether the financial statements prepared by the directors are true and fair.
  • A robust audit challenges the financial operations of a company and improves the internal workings of the audited business. This is critical in today’s business world as financial statements are one of only a small number of documents that a company will place into the public domain, and a quality audit gives confidence in what is delivered to all stakeholders.

Training & development

When you join the team, you’ll enjoy a powerful combination of on-the-job learning and structured training – not to mention an impressive client list to work with. You’ll discover a culture that nurtures individuality and an environment where everyone is supported to reach their potential. With them, you’ll always be moving forward.

Compensation & benefits

RSM offers competitive salary, benefits, and a working environment where you’re valued as part of the team. Benefits include:

  • Annual salary range of GBP 22,000 to GBP 26,500
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Health and Dental Plans
  • Pension Scheme
  • Core Life Assurance & Critical Illness Cover
  • Enhanced Family Leave Policies
  • Holiday Trading
  • And many more...

Career progression

RSM’s graduate apprenticeship in external audit will give you access to top-quality career development. Alongside hands-on experience, you’ll benefit from on-the-job training from more senior members of the team and gain access to the internal training courses that will help you develop in the role. With this support, you’ll become a true trusted adviser to your clients in the future.

Work-life balance

RSM works hard to create an environment where its people can make a difference - to themselves, their career, their teams, and to the success of the firm and clients. The company supports all its people to work flexibly, and to manage their family and other responsibilities alongside their work commitments; They believe this is key to achieving an inspiring and fulfilling working environment.

Culture & vibe

RSM wants to create a strong sense of belonging so that people of all identities, backgrounds, and cultures feel they can bring their true selves to work. Diverse teams bring a broader range of ideas and insights to work. That’s why they’re working together to ensure the firm’s principles and processes support a firm culture that embraces difference and strengthens inclusion.

About you

What RSM looks for:

You will need:

  • 112 UCAS (new tariff) across 3 A Levels or an equivalent level 3 qualification or 104 UCAS (new tariff) across 4 Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers. Please note, that RSM does not accept General Studies, AS levels, or Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ).
  • A predicted or obtained honours degree.
