Your role

The Operation Teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products. Shopee Xpress (SPX) is committed to providing the best last-mile customer experience and ensuring that millions of parcels are delivered safely and efficiently to the customers’ doorsteps. As an Intern, you will:

• Work with large datasets to identify issues and drive improvements that have a quantifiable impact, using advanced data analytics tools such as SQL, Python, or R.
• Conduct geospatial analysis to evaluate network structures in each market, to optimize first and last-mile delivery speed and cost.
• Work closely with local counterparts in each market to understand their business problems, scaling factors, and boundary conditions.
• Drive adoption of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and best practices across the region-wide Shopee Xpress network to ensure the standardization of processes.
• Communicate ideas and key findings in a logical and structured manner to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Manage the roll-out and adoption of tech solutions for different projects, including coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), developing training material, reporting and tracking of impact after roll-out.

About you

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or above in any related discipline.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, proficiency in scripting languages especially SQL and Python is a plus.
• Interest in building broad capabilities in strategy, operations, and data analytics in the e-commerce industry.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative work environment to achieve business goals and make an impact.
• Ability to break down complex problems into small actionable, draw insights from complex data, and design practical and scalable solutions.
• Ability to bring onboard new perspectives and ways to carry out tasks, solve problems, and meet challenges.
• Full-time interns preferred 3 to 6 months.
• Part-time interns who can commit at least 3 working days a week are also welcome to apply.
