About UBS Australia

Expert advice. Wealth management. Investment banking. Asset management. Retail banking in Switzerland. And all the support functions. That's what UBS does. And they do it for private and institutional clients as well as corporations around the world.

Your role

You’ll work in the Asset Management team, helping to manage large-scale assets with well-diversified businesses across regions, capabilities and distribution channels. You’ll be a part of one of the leading fund houses in Europe, the largest mutual fund manager in Switzerland, and one of the largest fund of hedge funds and real estate investment managers in the world.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Assist with the investment analysis of acquisitions (existing and development assets)
  • Analyse residential real estate markets
  • Assist in the acquisition due diligence process as required
  • Maintain a database of multi-family investment opportunities
  • Conduct financial modelling (fund and property level)
  • Assist in the preparation of investment papers, marketing materials, presentations and reports
  • Provide analytical support for the preparation of asset business plans
  • Assist in the management of key external stakeholders including developers, valuers and other consultants
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the investment managers

Training & development

On this 10-week summer program, you’ll be a real part of the team, working with their experts and learning about the industry, their clients, their firm and a specific area of it. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and make contacts. And if you impress them, UBS might invite you to join their Graduate Talent Program once you’ve graduated.

Benefits

At UBS, they understand that a good work/life balance is pivotal to their employees’ overall well-being and to their job satisfaction, and therefore productivity. That’s why they work hard to ensure their employees, whatever their needs, are supported throughout the employee lifecycle. Their employee benefits and award-winning programs detailed below make sure they are able to do just that.

  1. Family
  2. Flexible working
  3. Mental health
  4. Recognition and commitment

Career progression

UBS offers a series of programs to help their employees achieve career growth, some of these are the Career Navigator. It is a platform that supports employees with internal mobility. It’s a game changer and enables them to explore career paths and search for open roles that match their interests while allowing the recruiters to find internal talent more easily. It also identifies skill gaps with regard to new roles and interests and directs links to learning opportunities to help fill these gaps.

Work life balance

At UBS, they embrace flexible ways of working when the role permits. They offer different working arrangements like part-time, job-sharing, and hybrid (office and home) working. Their purpose-led culture and global infrastructure help them connect, collaborate, and work together in agile ways to meet all their business needs.

Culture & vibe

A diverse workforce, inclusive culture, and equitable practices are crucial to their long-term success. At UBS, they reimagine the power of people and investments to create a better world for all– a world that’s fair and sustainable - and this underpins their approach to diversity.  In their experience, diverse teams better understand and relate to their diverse clients’ needs.

About you

You need to be graduating. It doesn’t matter what you are studying. (Really, it doesn’t.) But they’d like to see evidence that you can:

  • Analyze a problem, take a view and come to a decision
  • Plan, organize and communicate well
  • Make things happen
  • Stick with a task
  • Work in a team
  • Come up with ideas
