Your role

UNICEF Australia's Social Media Team is looking for a passionate Marketing or Communications student to join them on an unpaid internship. As a successful candidate, this internship will give you the opportunity to work closely with brand and campaign specialists within a supportive team that welcomes innovation and diverse backgrounds. They will work with you to identify what you would like to get out of the internship, as well as the skills you would like to develop during your time with us.

Your day will include

This internship will provide a fantastic opportunity to see how UNICEF Australia uses social media in unique ways to reach our target audience, as well as learn about the different areas of social media marketing, from creating content to managing campaigns.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop highly engaging content (with a strong focus on producing video content) to be published and distributed via UNICEF Australia’s social media channels, in particular, TikTok, WeAre8 and YouTube Shorts
  • Assist in the development of content tailored to specific audience groups, supporting UNICEF Australia’s brand/communication objectives for children and young people

About you

Requirements

  • They are looking for a passionate team player with a genuine interest in working in the international aid and development sector and a strong knowledge of social media platforms.
  • To be successful in your application, you must be connected to a relevant university degree, ideally in Marketing, Communications or similar. 
  • You will need to have an eye for design, excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in a way that is easy to understand. Experience with basic video and image editing using the Adobe Creative suite (eg Premiere Pro and Photoshop), Canva or CapCut, would be desirable.
