UNIQLO Management Candidate (UMC) Program)

Who We Are

UNIQLO is the leading brand of the Fast Retailing Group, operating over 2,500 stores across 26 markets worldwide. Australia is a key market for UNIQLO in building our presence across the Asia and Oceania region. Since launching our first store at Emporium Melbourne in April 2014, weโ€™ve grown to 39 stores across VIC, NSW, SA, WA, QLD, and ACT (as of November 2024).

To support our continued expansion in Australia, weโ€™re inviting new graduates to join us as UNIQLO Management Candidates (UMC).

What Youโ€™ll Do as a UMC

As a UNIQLO Management Candidate, your journey begins in one of our Australian stores with the goal of becoming a Store Manager within 12 months.

Youโ€™ll be supported by our Training Department and your Store Manager from day one. Your training will start with hands-on, foundational tasksโ€”such as folding, replenishing, and cleaningโ€”to help you understand and embody UNIQLOโ€™s high operational standards and customer-first mindset.

Youโ€™ll also be trained in key retail management areas including:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining UNIQLOโ€™s brand experience
  • Implementing visual merchandising in line with brand guidelines
  • Supervising, motivating, and developing team members to drive performance and engagement
  • Creating and managing effective work schedules
  • Monitoring inventory levels and identifying operational improvements for efficiency

Your progress will be evaluated monthly to prepare you for your Store Manager promotion interview after 12 months.

Your Career Path

Once promoted, youโ€™ll take ownership of a multi-million-dollar store. With strong performance, youโ€™ll continue to grow through:

  • Senior Store Manager โ€“ Leading larger teams and high-traffic locations
  • Area Manager โ€“ Managing multiple stores across a region
  • General Operations Manager โ€“ Overseeing business performance across states

Additionally, you may explore roles in our Melbourne Store Support Centre or move into international leadership roles as part of our global talent pipeline.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident at the time of application
  • Have recently completed or be on track to complete a Bachelorโ€™s degree (or higher) between 2023 and 2025
  • Be available to start full-time from August 2025
  • Be flexible to relocate within Australia (we have stores in WA, SA, VIC, NSW, and ACT)
  • Be available to work on a roster basis, including evenings and public holidays

Letโ€™s Talk About You

  • Commitment to Excellence โ€“ You continuously strive for the highest standards
