Internship at UN DESA's NGO Branch in New York, focusing on supporting NGO interactions and documentation review.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing applications for consultative status through the ICSO platform.
  • Communicating with NGOs about their applications and ensuring compliance with ECOSOC Resolution 1996/31.
  • Conducting Internet research and preparing reports and studies.
  • Providing secretariat services during Committee on NGOs sessions.
  • Supporting preparations for consultations with NGOs in consultative status.
  • Facilitating NGO participation in UN work.
  • Performing other duties as required.

About You:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of French or any official UN language is an asset.

Compensation & Benefits:

The internship is unpaid. Interns are responsible for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses. Flexible Work Arrangement may be available.
