Join the UN DESA team to support global economic research and policy analysis for sustainable development.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities as follows:

  • Conduct background research and literature reviews on macroeconomic developments and policies.
  • Perform quantitative data analysis and assist in economic modeling.
  • Support the organization of expert group meetings for the World Economic Situation and Prospects 2026 report.
  • Provide logistical support and draft summary reports for meetings.
  • Assist in daily team activities, including information requests and presentation development.

About You:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Enrollment in the final year of a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program, or recent completion of such a program.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
  • Working knowledge of statistical/econometric software like Stata, Eviews, or R.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of another UN language is advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits:

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or their sponsor.
