The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is seeking passionate young interns who are innovative doers and thinkers and interested in making a difference for a better world. OHR promotes a dynamic, adaptable, and mobile workforce with the highest standards of competence and integrity, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the Organization's mandates. These internships are within the Global Strategy and Policy Division (GSPD) of OHR, part of the Department of Management Strategy, Policy, and Compliance (DMSPC). GSPD serves as the central authority on all human resources management matters, ensuring the Organization has the strategies, policies, frameworks, and tools necessary to attract, develop, and retain a talented and diverse global workforce. The division fosters a culture of engagement, leadership, and results by providing strategic and thought leadership, policy guidance, and innovative solutions for managing talent end-to-end. This includes strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, staff development, performance management, mobility, and appropriate duty of care for all Secretariat staff.
The internship is for a minimum of two months with a possibility for extension to no longer than six months, depending on the needs of the department. The internship is unpaid and full-time. Interns work up to five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the office where they are assigned. Examples of daily tasks include:

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
This internship is for a minimum 2 and maximum of 6 months and designed to be in-person and full-time (35 hours per week). The duration and modality can be adjusted on request of the successful candidate.
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
