Your Role:
- The intern will assist in researching, drafting, and preparing documents and policies.
- Conduct background research and support concept papers on mine action policy, relevant conventions, and state compliance with treaties.
- Identify, review, and monitor key documents by UN legislative bodies.
- Assist in drafting strategies and policies.
- Support the planning and organization of events.
- Engage in outreach to UNMAS programs to gather, synthesize, and analyze data.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- The internship is located within the Policy, Advocacy, Donor Relations, and Outreach Section of UNMAS, part of the Department of Peace Operations.
About You:
- Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate or final year of a first university degree program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- A demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and a commitment to its ideals is essential.
- Ability to interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds is necessary.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required; knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
