Support UN leadership initiatives in a flexible, unpaid internship focused on peace and security.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct online research to update the database of potential candidates for senior leadership positions.
  • Support database clean-up and reviews of profiles for selection processes.
  • Prepare mission and country profiles with background documentation.
  • Assist with outreach initiatives and prepare meeting documents and promotional materials.
  • Monitor and report on global leadership news within the UN and other organizations.
  • Collect data on leadership trends and support the preparation of internal reports.
  • Attend webinars and produce summaries.
  • Provide support to ongoing projects such as leadership support initiatives and onboarding processes.

About You:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program or the final academic year of a first university degree program.
  • Demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations, especially in peace and security.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
  • Knowledge of data management and graphic/visual editing software is highly desired.
  • Ability to draft news articles and design surveys is required.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required; knowledge of an additional UN language is an advantage.

Compensation & Benefits:
