Your Role:
- The intern will support the Peacebuilding Support Office by partnering with International Financial Institutions on peacebuilding initiatives.
- They will advance the Secretary-General's agenda on peacebuilding and the Youth, Peace and Security agenda through research, data analysis, and document preparation.
- Responsibilities include preparing analytical materials, drafting meeting summaries, and supporting internal and external engagements of senior officials.
- The intern will participate in UN mechanisms to promote integrated peacebuilding approaches and support the Peacebuilding Commission's meetings and the management of the Peacebuilding Fund.
- They will assist in organizing the Annual UN-Civil Society Organizations Dialogue and perform other related duties as required.
About You:
- Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate program, in the final year of a bachelor's program, or have recently graduated.
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
- Applicants should have a field of study related to the internship and must provide proof of enrollment or graduation.
Compensation & Benefits:
The internship is unpaid. Interns are responsible for their travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
Training & Development:
Interns will have the opportunity to work independently on substantive issues and assist in day-to-day operations, gaining valuable experience in peacebuilding efforts.
Career Progression:
Completing the internship provides experience in international peacebuilding, potentially leading to future roles within the UN or related organizations.
