The intern will work full-time in the Visitors Services Section, part of the Outreach Division, Department of Global Communications in New York City. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and organizing outreach activities, supporting guided tours and events, conducting research on UN thematic issues, providing general office support, and managing social media content. The intern will also respond to visitor inquiries and assist with surveys on visitor experiences.
Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a university degree program, with a preference for fields related to the internship. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of another UN language is advantageous. Familiarity with MS Word and PowerPoint is essential.
Interns are not financially compensated. They are responsible for their travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
Interns will gain hands-on experience in public engagement and communication, enhancing their understanding of UN operations and global outreach.
Upon completion, interns will have developed skills in communication, research, and event organization, which can be valuable for future roles in international organizations or public relations.
