07.00 AM

I woke up a bit earlier than usual to get ready to pick up the car in the city for the site walk in Melton and Watergardens. I had breakfast and got myself site ready with hard hat, hi vis vest and glasses in the bag and long sleeve, long trouser, and ankle support steel toe boots on.

08.00 AM

Got on the train to the city. It's usually busier on train on Thursday (much quieter on Monday and Friday!).

08.30 AM

Met my manager at the office to be shown how to collect the car from the basement. LXRP has a shared car you can book for site visits. After getting in the car, waved bye to my manager and off to Melton!

10.00 AM

Arrived on site and meet with Environment Advisor in my team and meet the team on site including enviro leads, planner, and sustainability lead.

10.15 AM

Start the site walk and shown around the site what have been going on. I liaise with the site enviro lead to get to know the site. It was cool to see all different environmental efforts that goes into the construction project. One fascinating thing on this site was a skink pitfall trap - this site has a high tussock skink population; hence the site team is putting effort into salvage them before the grubbing work commence.

11.30 AM

Off to Watergardens site!

12.30 PM

Arrived at the Watergardens and greeted by the site Enviro Lead and meet the team on site. This site had a rumble grit at the egress point of the site to vibrate and remove the debris on the vehicle to control the erosion and sediment.

03.00 PM

Back to the office and had a late lunch.

04.00 PM

Caught up with my manager for the site walk and we did one on one meeting about how things are going and asked questions about anything I find unclear or need their support.

04.30 PM

Environment advisor in my team sent me drafts of the site inspection report for me to review. I let them know that I will review in the morning tomorrow and sent them updates. I usually check my schedule for the rest of the week and next week and organise the admin at the end of the day.
