Pros & Cons

  • The office is very modern- with activity-based working (hot-desking). It is an excellent building with plenty of collaborative spaces. No employees have their own offices with the exception of the CEO, who has an office with entirely glass walls and an always-open door.
  • Definitely the most up-beat, enthusiastic and positive work place I have ever been involved with, with many events and programs in place for sharing, teamwork and fun.
  • Great people, enjoyable and challenging work, opportunities to try working in lots of different areas of the bank
  • Strong diversity focused culture. Flexible working arrangements.
  • The culture. It doesn't get better than this.
  • Activity Based Working (where you don't have a set desk) has been a challenge sometimes, with space at a premium on some floors meaning it's hard to sit with your team if you come in later than the others.
  • There are a lot of corporate hoops to jump through to get work done.
  • I have found that management sometimes do not make positive changes and the responsibility for fixing the problems raised in our culture surveys are left to staff.
  • The bank-wide Graduate Program is brand new and so it still has a few bugs to iron out.
  • There are a lot of old processes in place and due to a lot of people being here for a long time, they can be hesitant to change and therefore things take time and there can be a lot of red tape.
