LGBTQIA+ at BASF Australia & New Zealand
Pride@BASF/ Savanna (LGBTIQ+) – promoting open discussions, acceptance, and education.
Pride@BASF aims to catalyse more diversity and inclusion amongst LGBTIQ community members within BASF ANZ organisation. This initiative focuses on four different key areas which are:
- Education: Creating a place to learn about the LGBTQ community’s history, and understand LGBTQ challenges within the workplace.
- Support: Being an ally is a visible show of support for those who are part of the community, but also for those with families, friends, and loved ones who identify as LGBTQ.
- Speak Up: Give people the tools and confidence to challenge prejudice in the workplace. An external study showed that 53% of LGBTQ employees report hearing jokes about lesbian or gay people.
- Act: as a voice for the LGBTQ community and implement diversity initiatives including how to be a Pride Ally.
