The Canva story
Canva was founded by Melanie Perkins, Cliff Obrecht and Cameron Adams in 2012. Since officially launching to the public in August 2013, Canva has grown exponentially, amassing over 75 million monthly active users across 190 different countries. Canva's valuation also continues to grow at pace, with it last valued at US$40 billion in September 2021.
At Canva, the journey is just as important as the destination. So while they strive towards their goals, Canva believes in being a force for good along the way.
And the best bit is that Canva's only achieved 1% of what they know they're capable of.
The culture
Canva's culture is unlike anywhere else and they design your #CanvaLife experience to empower you to do the best work of your life. You can dream big at Canva and set crazy big goals, powered by the help of your team.
Canva is a values led organisation with their values at the heart of everything they do. Their values are the spirit behind every action and intention at Canva, creating a culture where everyone can thrive, no matter your role.
Canva appreciates that the richness of its culture relies on diversity of thought, experience and expression. Canva has created a culture where people are empowered to come to work as themselves. Canva is inclusive and accepting of everyone for who they are, as they are. That counts for you too.
In our new working world, Canva knows that no one knows how you like to work better than you. Canva has a hybrid work model that sees Canvanauts come together in person for 8 days a year. So whether you're in the office, working from home or choosing your own adventure, Canva has designed the Canvanaut experience to help you do you.
Be A Force For Good
Canva is guided by a ‘simple’ two step plan — step one: to become one of the most valuable companies in the world, and most importantly, step two: to do the most good they can.
To work towards achieving step two of their plan, Canva's joined the 'Pledge 1%' movement, making a commitment to dedicate 1% of its equity, profit, time and product towards making the world a better place.
Canva established the Canva Foundation which focused on projects and partnerships that have a positive social impact, at both the global and local community levels.
Canva also aims to be ethical in as many ways as it can - through actions both big and small. Canva supports ethical suppliers at its offices and aims to minimise kitchen waste, with 80% of the vegetables used in the Sydney office kitchen produced on Canva's own farm.
Do you want to be a force for good? Every Canvanaut gets 3 days of paid volunteering leave per year. You can use your skills to use at a non-profit, helping out the community or getting involved in other community based initiatives.
