The EY Canada Story

EY, short for Ernst & Young, was founded in 1989. The firm was formed via an alliance between A.C. Ernst and Arthur Young.

Both legacy founding companies had already built a broad network before combining. At its creation, EY benefited from its superb foundation boasting over 60,000 employees in more than 90 countries.

In 1995, the firm included advisory services in its repertoire. It also merged with Kenneth Leventhal & Co., lending its services to the real estate industry. The US and Canadian branches of Ernst & Young agreed to form a single business unit in 1999.

In 2000, EY began its global structure, selling its consulting practice to Cap Gemini of France.

Over the years, the firm maintained its path of growth by hiring the best executive officers. Currently, the firm operates in 16 Canadian locations, constantly innovating new ways to improve professional services.
