Your role

The aim of the internship is to give trainees hands-on exposure to their field of interest and to gain insight and knowledge about the current dynamics of sales. It will allow the intern to leverage the diverse skills and knowledge acquired during their studies. The role would be suitable for applicants with a hotel management education or interest in business development. The internship aims to combine theoretical knowledge with communication skills to prepare students for the workforce in Australia. We aim to provide the necessary skills and build confidence in their applied field, as well as improve professional communication skills, professionalism in general and the ability to integrate into an international team. 

Key Responsibilities are to assist in the day-to-day running of the Asia Inbound Sales office including:

  • Respond to telephone & email inquiries and follow up 
  • Support team in the day-to-day administration 
  • Assist with all Sales activities for the hotels in the cluster for the Asian market
  • Ability to be able to assist and coordinate entertainment, sites, and families in partnership with the hotels’ sales teams and assist in the coordination of trade shows
  • Report generation and data entry into the tracking system
  • Ad hoc requests for assistance in PowerPoint presentations and collateral administration.
  • Involvement in the creation or updating of flyers, brochures, photos, and all types of promotional literature.
  • Participation in group meetings 
  • Independently carry out and, if possible, be responsible for a specific project, or set of tasks 
  • Gain knowledge and experience within a specific function and/or field of operations.
  • Apply and develop further interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Develop grounded theory, i.e. to be able to evaluate from practice to theory.
  • Assist as requested by the Director of Sales and provide support where needed to the team

About you

Education:

  • Undergraduate in Human Resources, Business, or Hospitality preferred

Requirements

  • Must have own working rights in Australia
  • Must be a current undergraduate of an Australian institution and be required to complete an internship as a pre-requisite of the course to graduate.
  • Prepared to commit to a three-month internship period or longer
